Text Box: Get Involved

EWB-USA North Texas invites people who are committed to improving the quality of lives of those in disadvantaged communities. We especially need people with experience in project management, construction, accounting, education, public relations, fundraising, and website management. Here are a few areas where the North Texas chapter is looking for volunteers:

Fundraising Volunteer to serve on a fundraising committee that focuses on building partnerships with local companies and organizations to provide financial support for EWB-USA projects.

Sponsorship Ask your company to sponsor an EWB-USA event

Student Mentor As a mentor, you will work with an engineering professor at UT Arlington to guide junior and senior engineering students as they work on EWB-USA projects.

Membership and Recruiting National membership in Engineers Without Borders has grown from 2 people in 2001 to more than 4,500 in 2006. If you are a people person, volunteer to join our membership committee and help us grow our chapter.

Website Updating    As a website volunteer, you will be responsible for updating meeting dates and locations, and posting news of recent projects.

Project Support The primary focus of Engineers Without Borders is to design and implement sustainable engineering infrastructure projects for the benefit of rural and under-developed communities. The North Texas chapter is looking for engineers to help design and review projects and to mentor engineering students as we work together to improve communities in need.

Speak to Local Youth Get involved by sharing your interest in engineering and your knowledge of the field with local youth by speaking to a class or speaking at a school career fair to encourage students to think about becoming engineers.
